Flora of the Pacific Northwest

Updating the, "Flora of the Pacific Northwest"

The volume, "Flora of the Pacific Northwest," was updated in 2018 after serving as a definitive reference for botanists and natural scientists since its original publication in 1973. Crystal was chosen to be the primary illustrator and contributed 882 graceful line drawings of native and nonnative species in this region. These drawings are a critical point of reference for those who use this tome to better understand the plants in the Pacific Northwest. Since the last publication, 1100 new taxa have been added to the book, and many of the previously classified taxa have been renamed. In addition to providing the new drawings, Crystal needed to make these illustrations blend seamlessly with the style of the 3000 original illustrations. Her efforts on this project are documented in an article published by the University of Washington and in the video, below.
